Lanie Zipoy (Producer) is a Memphis-born, NYC-based filmmaker and theater producer. She has studied and worked in many fields — genetics, fashion, the healing arts, and sports. She has also served as a volunteer tutor for over 1,000 New York City children through East Harlem Tutorial Program and New York Cares. Both organizations have recognized her with their highest honors. Lanie’s diverse interests have led her to produce and curate film and theatrical projects on a variety of subjects. Her theater projects have been nominated for Bessie and Lucille Lortel awards. Lanie’s feature film directorial debut, The Subject, stars Jason Biggs, Emmy Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis, Anabelle Acosta, Carra Patterson, Nile Bullock and Caleb Eberhardt. Lanie was a Time Warner Foundation Fellow of the 2012-2014 Lab at WP Theater, NYC. She has written for The Huffington Post. Her novel Me and the Moon was one of six finalists for The Write Stuff through MTV Books/Simon & Schuster. She is a member of New York Women in Film and Television, Filmshop, Film Fatales and The FilmMakeHers.
Robby Henson (Executive Director) is a director of theater and film. He received his M.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He has directed five feature films including the Civil War drama Pharoah’s Army with Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Kris Kristofferson and the Southern crime thriller The Badge with Billy Bob Thornton and Patricia Arquette. He has directed over 40 theater productions and has made five award-winning documentaries shown on PBS including Spalding Gray: A Life in Progress and Trouble Behind, a film about a Southern race riot that was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. He most recently was commissioned to write and direct a science fiction web film, Asparagus, for the Independent Television Service (ITVS) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which premiered at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival.
